Hey there — I’m James Krant, the guy behind My Numbers Guy. If you’re a small business owner in Barrie, you’ve probably got enough on your plate without having to stress over your books or tax deadlines.
That’s where I come in.
With over 30 years of accounting experience, I’ve worked in controller and senior roles across all kinds of businesses—construction, real estate, food service, manufacturing, retail, hospitality… you name it. I’ve also spent 20+ years helping non-profits with everything from bookkeeping to board-level financial decisions.
I completed senior-level coursework with the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA), and I’ve built my career—and my client relationships—on integrity, trust, and a down-to-earth approach that makes the financial side of business a whole lot less intimidating.
Not Your Typical Accountant

Before all this, I ran a successful bakery and trained as a pastry chef at George Brown College. I’ve also got a degree in Forestry Engineering from UNB and still love getting out into the woods with my camera (I sell prints now too—what started as a hobby turned into something more).
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me baking bread, spending time with my grandkids, or getting some fresh air behind a camera lens.
Point is—I’ve worn a lot of hats. I know what it’s like to run a business, chase deadlines, and juggle way too many things at once.
